Our Cookout

Last night, after discussing what we should do all afternoon, we decided to do a little cookout of our own.  The kids aren't use to us doing it, so it was so cute seeing their reaction.  Now remember, we are vegan.  We picnic, we don't do much "cooking outdoors".  We have a small grill that is portable.  The term cookout was a little confusing to my sweet little Kalen.  He kept asking about us camping out.  He had the two a little jumbled in his mind.  Poor guy thought we were going to camp out in our backyard instead of cookout.  :)

We had veggie kabobs, tofu dogs, veggie burgers, potato chips (a not often bought treat), and watermelon.  We definitely felt American as we happily feasted on our meal, surrounded by our citronella candles, listening to firecrackers and swatting flies.

Ahhh...there's nothing like a great backyard cookout, and your kabobs look wonderful - YUMMY! Watermelon juice dripping down your chin just truly completes the whole experience and almost makes up for the fly swatting (ha). I am glad that your adorable family enjoyed your Fourth of July together. Although I enjoy all of our seasons, summer is truly special! Continue enjoying each and every day sweet friend.
