We were so excited to find out yesterday that Jan, my mother-in-law was going to be able to spend her birthday with us. She came with Shanda and Jerry to Durham. She had requested one of her favorite 'Anna meals' and our vegan chocolate cake. We had quite a southern meal with black-eyed peas, fresh green beans, cabbage, toasted almond rice, pineapple and cornbread. She loved it! We are a family that loves, loves, loves to eat together.
We decided to take them to see Duke Gardens. It was beautiful, as always, and so delightful to walk through with them. Jan is a quality time lady. Loving her today was easy.
I can't say enough about Janet Lynn Qualls Morrison. She is the most life giving person you will ever meet. She loves people and people love her. She has a real interest in the lives of people and a unique gift of connecting with so many souls. I love her spirit, it is so infectious. She knows how to love our family and gives so freely. She has taught me so much about loving unconditionally.
Thank you, Lord, for giving us Jan. Please continue to bless her and mold her.

Amen!! Thank you, Lord, for Jan! She is precious.
I love your description of her: life-giving. Though I only know little of Jan anymore, that is certainly the way I would describe her.
Happy Birthday, Jan!
much love,
the Longs
