Kalen's Day

Today, Kalen enjoyed his requested breakfast of oatmeal with strawberries, just after he opened his gifts.   He picked from the birthday basket throughout the morning and really enjoyed that.

He wanted a smoothie for lunch, so a smoothie he was given!  Kalen enjoyed helping make the cake and licking the bowl.  He and Maddie had a hand in the entire process.  The sun began to shine in the afternoon and we were able to take a long walk and the kids rode their bikes.  It was so nice to see the sun and be outside with the kids.

Kalen wanted lasagna for supper.  It was so yummy!  He had seconds.  Kalen and I frosted our cake.  We sang to the little guy and ate up.  Kalen ate his cake on a special plate that my friend, Laurie, made and gave to us when he was born.  Thanks Laurie, it is such a precious plate.  How did you know he would be crazy about creatures??

Now, tonight we are moving out all of our stuff in our homeschool/play room and the dining room, because we are getting bamboo floors put in tomorrow.  We are excited about that, but incredibly tired.  This birthday stuff is exhausting.  I wouldn't have it any other way though.  I know Kalen felt loved and appreciated today.  Mission accomplished.
